It shall be the Freeport Memorial Library policy that all trustees, officers, employees and volunteers of FML have a responsibility to report known or suspected violations in accordance with this Whistleblower Policy. This includes reporting any action or suspected action taken by or within the FML that is illegal, fraudulent or in violation of any policy of the FML, which the complainant has either actual knowledge of or has a reasonable good faith belief that same occurred.
No trustee, director, officer, employee or volunteer of the FML who in good faith reports any action or suspected action taken by or within the FML that is illegal, fraudulent or in violation of any adopted policy of the FML shall suffer intimidation, harassment, discrimination or other retaliation or, in the case of employees, adverse employment consequence.
This policy shall apply to and be distributed to all employees, trustees, officers, and volunteers of the Freeport Memorial Library at the time of appointment or hiring and annually thereafter.
