BULLETIN BOARD, POSTERS AND PAMPHLET DISPLAY
The Freeport Memorial Library encourages the posting and distribution of appropriate materials as part of the Library’s information and referral service. Bulletin boards and pamphlet racks are intended to increase public awareness of the range of information available in the library collection and to make available information created by and of interest to the Freeport community. The content of items on bulletin boards and in pamphlets is treated in general under the Library Bill of Rights, adopted by the Library Board with a note of clarification on May 15, 1991. The Library Bill of Rights is available at the reference desk.
All material to be displayed must first be submitted to the head of Circulation of approval. Final authority for all materials displayed on bulletin boards and pamphlet display racks rests with the Library Director, but is delegated operationally to the Librarian in Charge, the Head of Circulation, and the Public Relations Coordinator. Unauthorized material will be discarded.
The library assumes no responsibility for the preservation, protection, or possible damage or theft of any items posted or displayed. Most material is displayed for up to one month only. When space is limited, preference is given to Freeport organizations.
Adopted by the Board of Trustees August 21, 1991, Rev. May 1992.
