Business Resource Information Center

In the fall of 2013, the Board of Trustees voted to dedicate the Business Resource Information Center (BRIC) as an area within the Library where current and potential entrepreneurs could find reliable information and resources. Located on the main floor, BRIC contains a state-of-the-art smart board, specially designed conference table, WIFI, and all of the appropriate connections for mobile devices.  The center is also equipped with a collection of business related books and materials, as well as a computer with customized databases essential for research and business development.

BRIC also serves as a place where entrepreneurs can acquire the skills and training essential to becoming and remaining competitive in a business environment.  Examples of programs offered include training on effective use of social media, microsoft Office Products, databases, business-to-business networking, and more.  For more information about BRIC, please contact the committee by email at bric@freeportlibrary.info or by phone at 516-379-3274, ext. 245.

ONE-ON-ONE BUSINESS COUNSELING

The BRIC committee is proud to welcome Mr. Lespinasse, our newest business counselor who comes to us from the NYS Small Business Development Center (SBDC).

Mr. Lespinasse is a proud Haitian-American who emigrated to the United States at a very young age. He holds an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree in Accounting from the City University of New York, a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Management from Adelphi University and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Long Island University. He is also a graduate of the American Institute of Banking (AIB) and a Certified NASBITE International – Global Business Professional (CGBP).

Mr. Lespinasse is a long-time resident of Nassau county where he lives with his family. His favorite pastimes are reading biographies, history and Haitian literature, playing golf as well as listening to jazz and kompa music.

Pierre Lespinase is available on Thursdays, by appointment only, for one-on-one counseling for those interested in developing a successful business.
